Golf Courses
A large part of our winter work is carried out on golf courses. A wide
variety of work is undertaken in this field, with great care taken to
ensure minimum disruption to the sward. The investment in specialist machinery
with LGP tyres or rubber tracks allows for work to be carried out during
periods of poor weather.
Golf Course Drainage
Installation of mains and lateral drainage systems on golf course fairways
are a project which is routinely undertaken. Depending on location and
ground conditions, Either AFT Trenchers or Shelton Wizz Wheel's are used
for trench excavations. Backfill, using lab-tested materials, is by side-delivery
unit, and all materials are consolidated on completion.
A newer concept is that of gravel and/or sandbanding golf greens. This
is proving effective in helping surface drainage, and in certain circumstancies
can elliminate the necessity for reconstruction work.
Golf Course Construction/Remodelling Work
As old soil consruction greens become obsolete by design or construction,
many clubs are looking to rebuild golf greens.
By using excavators, fitted with swivel buckets, for intricate shaping
work, rebuilds can be quick, cost effective and produce great results.
Bunker remodelling, Tee construction and Ditch installations are also
projects tackled on a regular basis.
Remedial Works
Souters Sports Ltd is able to hire, with operator, Verti-drains, Outfield
spreaders, Hollow corers and the Eartquake aerator to clubs looking to
improve the standards on the golf course.
